NEED to KNOW info from Nurse Boggs!!
This message contains several key points of information for healthcare needs as we enter the 2025 school year.
If your middle school student requires prescription medication the school nurse must have a current GMS Medication Form on file. Important reminders:
1. Medication must be brought to school by the parent or caregiver, never a student;
2. Medication Forms must be signed by the prescriber AND the parent or caregiver;
3. Medications and signed forms may be brought to GMS on Back to School Night.
4. If your student is diagnosed with a medical condition such as asthma, seizures, food allergies or diabetes, and requires emergency medication, please bring the completed medical form to the school nurse on Back to School Night or by appointment. Please email Nurse Boggs at bboggs@glnd.k12.va.us to schedule a time to meet prior to the first day of school if needed.
If your student is a rising 7th grader and still needs the required vaccines, TDAP and Meningococcal to start school, the GMS clinic will be hosting a vaccine clinic with the Goochland Health Department on Back to School Night, Thursday, August 14th from 5-7pm. Vaccines are limited and will be available on a first come basis. Other options to receive these vaccines are a local pharmacy, your healthcare provider or by scheduling an appointment with the Goochland Health Department.
Parents Mr. Gordon invites you to join in his PLAYBOOK PREVIEW - Parent Huddle with Principal Gordon on Aug. 18 @ 10:30
I'd love for you to join me at GMS for a coffee. We will take a look at what's ahead and how we will win - TOGETHER!
