Today, Mr. Tate's robotics class took a field trip to Luck Stone! 👷 They had the opportunity to explore the intersection of heavy industry and advanced technology. We learned about the massive machinery required for quarry operations and about the tools that make everything more efficient. We also got to meet their drone operator and learn all about how drones are transforming the industry, providing a clear look to students of where their robotics studies can lead them into the professional world!

Ms. Flagg may be a veteran in the classroom, but this is her first year with the Roadrunner family! In just a few short months, her dedication to her students and RES has made a lasting impression on our community. 💚💛

As a fourth grade teacher, Ms. Patterson has shown a deep commitment to her students and a wonderful ability to connect with the GES family. We are so lucky to have her energy and dedication in our halls—she is already a vital part of the Otter pond! 🦦✨

First up, let’s hear it for Ms. Michelle Schiebel, a 4th grade teacher at Byrd Elementary School! 🦅 Ms. Schiebel has jumped right into the Byrd community with passion and heart, proving that it’s never too early to make a lasting difference in the lives of our students.

What an incredible Day of Service last week! 🎒✨Our NJHS club members traded their usual routines for a day of community impact supported by Ms. Paige, Mr. Rorrer, and Ms. Voss. We headed out to BES, GES, and RES to lend a hand wherever it was needed most and our GMS students had an absolute blast helping out with the elementary students! Nothing beats the energy of seeing our community come together. We’re already looking forward to the next one!

🚨 GCPS Update 🚨

We have been monitoring the forecast for Monday, and due to the elevated risk of extended severe weather, including widespread damaging winds, strong tornadoes, and large hail, GCPS will be closed tomorrow, March 16.

The uncertain timing of the storms could put our buses and students on the road as conditions worsen, even in the event of an early dismissal. Out of an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to close schools. We recognize the disruption this causes and thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

French II is monumental! 🇫🇷 Students designed and 3D printed a monument from a french-speaking country. Seeing these monuments come to life layer-by-layer is the ultimate way to blend Art, Tech, and History.

From pulley systems to pendulum swings, the creativity in this room is off the charts! These students aren't just building machines; they’re building the mindset of a future innovator.

❤️ Community Helping Community! ❤️ Today, volunteers came together for a Generosity Feeds Meal Creation Event, packaging 3,000 meals to help fight child hunger locally. This impactful event was organized by Goochland High School senior Sophia Weller as part of her senior project, and we are so proud of the leadership and service she demonstrated.
