Mrs. Parks 8th grade Art Honors Class participated in an interactive, kinesthetic gallery walk encouraging students to analyze and respond to their peers' works of art, helping them to offer constructive critiques, develop new ideas, and gain a deeper understanding of the sculptural processes and concepts through observation and discussion.

Last week, Ms. Tynes' Block 1 class had a successful pop-in with Ms. Powell as part of our #BeHere challenge! They enjoyed time in the courtyard and freeze pop!

Mr. Tate's class continued their exploration with the Indi Cars today as they "explored space!" Their task was to get their car as close to Saturn as possible without hitting it or going past it. Students only got one shot in the hallway of "space", doing all their prep work and testing in the classroom on "Earth."

Did you know August 27th is World Rock Paper Scissors Day? We did at GMS! Staff played all day, winning clothespins from each other, with Mr. Dressel walking away with 14 in total!

Mr. Rorrer's World Geography students last week were tasked with creating a giant world map puzzle as a class! Not only was it fun, but it also taught critical thinking skills and teamwork for everyone to accomplish the complete puzzle.

Mr. Tate worked with the Indi Cars in his Foundations of Robotics Engineering class, starting the year with the foundations of the Engineering Design Process. Students had to figure out how to work the robots with no instructions from Mr. Tate - just experimentation and curiosity!

To help our youngest and newest learners get settled, we have a staggered start for the first two days of school:

📅 Monday, August 18
✅ First day for Preschool, Kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade students ONLY

📅 Tuesday, August 19
✅ All students attend school

We can’t wait to see everyone back and ready for an amazing year!!
