Due to the threat of inclement weather, including a forecast of 1–3 inches of snow in the morning along with freezing temperatures, we have made the decision to close schools tomorrow. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority, and current weather predictions indicate potentially hazardous travel conditions during arrival hours.
All school-related activities, including after-school programs, will also be cancelled for Friday. At this time, Saturday events and activities will continue as scheduled. We will continue to monitor weather conditions and communicate promptly if additional cancellations or adjustments become necessary. We encourage families to stay safe, use caution if traveling, and enjoy the day at home.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Yesterday, Mr. Tate's class had an EGG-cellent time with their 🥚 egg drop! Students had to drop their eggs from a variety of heights to see if their egg could survive the drop with the protections built, which had to include something 3D printed. The ultimate champion used memory foam and sponges to protect their egg!

Goochland Middle School National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) students spent the day spreading joy and lending a helping hand at Byrd Elementary! 💙🦅
Our students jumped into a variety of activities across the school—supporting kindergarteners with a Thanksgiving project (and some hot chocolate!), assisting with learning activities like escape rooms and reader’s theater, creating holiday crafts, and spending time with Pre-K students during play, art, and lunch.
We are so proud of their leadership, kindness, and commitment to service!

✍️ History comes alive in Ms. Voss' history class! 📰 Students are diving deep into their newspaper project about Westward Expansion by becoming time-traveling reporters with the help of the SchoolAI platform!
Students used the AI chatbots to conduct realistic, simulated interviews with historical figures. This helped them learn about the time period in a more immersive way, 'talking' to Lewis, Clark, a homesteader, or a Native American. Their final newspaper articles are going to be so much richer thanks to this innovative preparation! 💻📜
